地域から変革を起こすリーダーの育成
伝統・先端企業の集積地である京都は、学生人口が10％を占める大学のまちであり、大学から新しい文化をつくり上げる風土があります。フォーラムでは、京都と同じ特徴をもつヘルシンキにあるアールト大学からPäivi Oinonen氏を迎えて、大学でのデザインファクトリー立ち上げや、数々のプロジェクト推進、世界13箇所でのデザインファクトリーネットワークの構築などの経験を通じ、どのようにして地域を牽引する次世代リーダーを育成するかというテーマで講演を行います。パネルディスカッションでは、起業支援団体“スタートアップサウナ”のKasper Suomalainen氏よりフィンランドの学生起業ムーブメントを紹介し、地域から変革を起こすリーダーシップのあり方について、本学学生も交えた議論を行います。

北欧式イノベーション文化の作り方
世界最大の通信会社ノキアの衰退後、世界有数のベンチャー大国となった北欧の国フィンランド。そこには大企業への依存から、小さなチームが新たな価値を創造していく文化への根本的な変革が必要でした。どのようにしてフィンランドでは変革の文化を構築していったか、Oinonen氏、Suomalainen氏をお招きし、2日間のワークショップを行います。イノベーション組織の構築や、成功を妨げる要因の発見手法について興味をお持ちの方、ぜひご参加ください。

Driving changes from regional communities
Kyoto, the city where technology companies and history comes together, is also a student city like Helsinki where Aalto University is based. With students consisting 10% of the city population, there is natural tendency to create new cultures from universities.
In the forum, we invite Päivi Oinonen who will share her experiences in helping create the Aalto Design Factory and spreading it to 13 location around the world and explain how next generation of regional leaders can be developed.
In the panel discussion, a Kyoto Institute of Technology student and Kasper Suomalainen, Director of Community at Startup Sauna, will join to discuss leadership that creates change from regional communities.

Creating the Nordic Innovation Culture
After the decline of Nokia, once one of the most influential telecommunications company in the world, Finland is rebuilding its country by becoming one of the world’s leading hub of entrepreneurship. In order to accomplish that, a cultural shift was required, from that of large corporations to small teams that create new value. To uncover how such a transformation in culture was accomplished, we invite Päivi Oinonen and Kasper Suomalainen to host a two-day workshop. If you’re interested in creating innovative organizations or trying to figure out what blocks innovations, definitely join us.

Päivi Oinonen
Design Factory Global Network Strategist, Aalto University
Päivi’s role as the strategist is to develop the Design Factory Global Network (DFGN) and the collaboration between the existing and upcoming new members. DFGN is a network of 13 innovation hubs in universities and research organizations in five continents of the world. DFGN is on a mission to create change in the world of learning and research through passion-based culture and effective problem solving.
In practice Päivi consults universities around the world on the Design Factory model, a platform for experimentation, with a focus on interdisciplinary product development, design thinking and organizational culture that supports creativity and serendipitous interactions.
Previously Päivi has worked as the Junior Vice Manager of ADF (2010-2011), spent two years in Australia setting up Design Factory Melbourne (2012-2013), and as a visiting academic and lecturer in design innovation in Swinburne University (2014).
Päivi has an MSc in International Business and International Design Business Management from Aalto University, Finland, and a BSc in International Commerce from University of Birmingham, England. Päivi’s expertise and research interest is in internationalizing organizational cultures and the platforms, which facilitate interdisciplinary innovation. Her interest also includes high performance teams in the fuzzy front-end phase of product development process.

Kasper is the Director of Community at Startup Sauna, the Nordic’s leading business development accelerator for top-notch tech teams. Previously, he has been the President of Aalto Entrepreneurship Society, Europe’s largest student-run entrepreneurship community.
