香港で開催されるSIGGRAPH Asia 2025のArt Gallery部門に、堀川淳一郎特任研究員、井上智博技術専門職員、登尾育海特任研究員、岩見遙果特任研究員、石津優子氏（株式会社GEL代表）による研究成果「Generative Tectonics: A Dialogue Between Code and Clay」が採択され、2025年12月16日〜18日に展示されます。

SIGGRAPHは、コンピュータグラフィックスとインタラクティブ技術に関する国際会議で、同分野における世界最大級のイベントとして広く知られています。そのアジア地域版であるSIGGRAPH Asiaは、2008年からアジア各地で毎年開催されており、研究発表、展示、アニメーション、アート関連プログラムなど多様なコンテンツによって構成されています。

本研究で制作された展示作品は、生成的な粘土タイルによる建築壁であり、Houdiniからファブリケーションまでの統合パイプラインによって制作されています。独自の着色システムは、AIを用いてキーワードから配色を生成し、クベルカ＝ムンク（Kubelka–Munk）理論を適用して物理的な釉薬レシピを予測します。本作品はポストヒューマン工芸を探求し、コード、粘土、意図が協働することで、陶芸表現の新たな可能性を示すものです。

A research project titled “Generative Tectonics: A Dialogue Between Code and Clay,” developed by Project Researcher Junichiro Horikawa, Technical Staff Tomohiro Inoue, Project Researcher Ikumi Noborio, Project Researcher Haruka Iwami, and Yuko Ishizu (CEO of GEL Inc.), has been selected for the Art Gallery program at SIGGRAPH Asia 2025, to be held in Hong Kong. The work will be exhibited during the event’s exhibition period, from 16 to 18 December 2025.

SIGGRAPH is an international conference on computer graphics and interactive technologies and is widely recognized as one of the largest events in the field. Its Asian edition, SIGGRAPH Asia, has been held annually across various cities in Asia since 2008 and features a diverse range of programs, including research presentations, exhibitions, animation showcases, and art-related events.

The exhibited work is an architectural wall of generative clay tiles, created via an integrated Houdini-to-fabrication pipeline. It employs a unique coloring system that uses AI to generate palettes from keywords and applies the Kubelka–Munk model to predict physical glaze recipes. The work explores posthuman craft, where code, clay, and intent collaborate to revitalize ceramics.
