Daniela Mitterberger
Mitterberger is an Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich, where she directs the Architecture and Human Augmentation professorship focusing on extended reality, human-machine collaboration and interaction in architecture., advancing human–machine collaboration through digital fabrication and extended reality. Her research develops adaptive computational methods that integrate design, robotics, and immersive technologies. She is the lead developer of COMPAS XR, an open-source framework for extended reality and robotic fabrication in architecture. Mitterberger earned her doctorate from ETH Zurich in 2023, where she also co-led the Immersive Design Lab within the Design++ initiative. Before joining ETH Zurich, she was an Assistant Professor at Princeton University and led the XAIA Lab from 2024 to 2026. She has taught internationally, including at ETH Zurich, University of Melbourne, and Tongji University. She is also co-founder of MAEID [Büro für Architektur und Transmediale Kunst], a multidisciplinary practice exploring the intersections of computation, living systems, and performance. MAEID’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale, Seoul Biennale, Ars Electronica, and the Melbourne Triennial.

Eleni Vasiliki Alexi
Alexi is currently pursuing a PhD in the Computation and Energy track at Princeton University’s School of Architecture. She is trained as an architect with experience in the UK, Greece, and Switzerland. Alexi was an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Cyprus for the Fall Semester of 2023 and has worked as an Architect and Digital Fabrication Specialist at MESH AG, contributing to the XRebar project, which focuses on enhancing manual tasks in rebar mesh handling and quality control using extended reality. She holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Architecture and Digital Fabrication from ETH Zurich, where her thesis explored augmented human-robot collaboration in digital fabrication processes. She earned her Integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Architecture from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2020. Her postgraduate and doctoral studies have been supported by competitive scholarships, including the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation, HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings S.A., Synenosis Foundation, and the Stanley J. Seeger Hellenic Studies Award. Alexi has presented her work in exhibitions and conferences, such as CAADFutures 2025, the 11th Biennale of Young Greek Architects (2024) and the Future of Construction Symposium 2023.
