KYOTO Design Labでは、「XR Garden Project」を開始します。本プロジェクトは、マティアス・フォルマー特任准教授がプリンストン大学と協働して主導するもので、拡張現実（XR）と協働的プロトタイピングを通じて、実験的な庭園デザインを探究します。
キックオフセッションの後、選抜された参加学生は2025年11月から2026年2月にかけて、松ヶ崎キャンパス敷地内でのXRガーデンの設計・実現に取り組み、デジタルデザインと施工手法を組み合わせた開発を行います。
参加を希望する学生は、2025年10月15日（水）に行われるキックオフセッションに出席してください。
※本プロジェクトは京都工芸繊維大学の学生のみ受講可能です。

開発フェーズ
＜2025年11月〜2026年1月＞
週1回または隔週のミーティングと自主的なプロジェクト作業を通じて庭園の開発を行います。単位取得にはこのフェーズへの参加が必須です。
現地施工フェーズ
＜2026年2月下旬＞
春季休暇中にXRガーデンの現地施工フェーズを実施予定です。単位取得の必須条件ではありませんが、参加が強く推奨されます。
参加資格・単位
– 修士課程の学生を対象とします。
– 「国際設計プロジェクトIV」または「地域設計プロジェクトIV」として実施予定

– プロジェクトは英語で実施されます。
– 単位は11月〜1月の開発フェーズへの参加を基準に認定されますが、プロジェクトの全体像を体験するため、現地施工フェーズへの参加も推奨します。

KYOTO Design Lab will launch the XR Garden Project, led by Prof. Matthias Vollmer in collaboration with Princeton University.
The project explores experimental garden design through extended reality (XR) and collaborative prototyping. Following the kick-off, selected participants will engage in the development and realization of the XR Garden on Campus ground, combining digital design and construction methods and between November 2025 and February 2026.
Students who wish to participate in the project are required to attend the kick-off session on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Note: This project is open to students of Kyoto Institute of Technology only.

Project Development Phase
Weekly/Bi-weekly meetings and independent project work to develop the garden project. Participation in this phase is required for credit.
On-site construction phase
On-site construction phase of the XR Garden will take place during the spring break. Participation is highly encouraged but not mandatory, as it is not part of the credit requirements.
Eligibility & Credits
– Open to Master students.
– Enrollment is planned under the course International Project of Architectural Design IV or Regional Project of Architectural Design IV.

Note
– Project activities will be conducted in English.
– Students are encouraged to join the on-site construction phase to gain full experience of the project, though credits will be awarded based on participation in the Nov.–Jan. development phase.
