KYOTO Design Labでは、2023年10月2日（月）〜13日（金）まで、建築資料のナラティブな活用を模索するArchiveLab Workshopを開催いたします。コラボレーション・パートナーはチューリッヒ工科大学建築史・建築理論研究所（ETH Zurich gta）アーカイブズのディレクター、イリーナ・ダヴィドヴィチ博士（Dr. Irina Davidovici）です。
このワークショップでは、日本とスイスの「コンタクトゾーン」（Contact zone）としての建築アーカイブズの役割を探ります。1945年から65年にかけてピークを迎えた両国間の専門家のネットワークに焦点を当て、歴史的物語の再構築を試みます。受講者は桂離宮と『桂 –日本建築の伝統と創造』（1960）の再読を皮切りに、資料群を読み解きビジュアライズする方法を学びます。また、ワークショップの成果は書籍化を目指しています。

KYOTO Design Lab will host an ArchiveLab Workshop from 2 (Mon) to 13 (Fri) October 2023, exploring the narrative use of architectural archives. The collaboration partner is Dr Irina Davidovici, Director of the Archives of the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture(ETH Zurich gta).
This workshop will explore the role of architectural archives as ‘contact zones’ (contact zones) between Japan and Switzerland.
It will focus on the professional networks between the two countries, which peaked between 1945 and 1965, and attempt to reconstruct the historical narrative.
Participants will learn how to read and visualise the archives, starting with a re-reading of Katsura Villa and the book Katsura: Tradition and Creation of Japanese Architecture (1960). The outcome of the workshop is also intended to be published in print.
