京都工芸繊維大学 KYOTO Design Labでは、アテネを拠点とする建築事務所 Point Supremeによる公開レクチャー「Between Object and City」を開催します。
Point Supremeの建築では、従来のスケールやヒエラルキーの概念は前提として置かれない。すべては等価に扱われ、あらゆるものが宝物になり得る可能性を秘めている。建築は家具と溶け合い、家具はオブジェクトと溶け合い、インテリアは外へとにじみ出し、風景は室内へと引き込まれる。都市は部屋となり、部屋は都市となる。
素材や要素は、人工的で市場に流通するプロダクトから、自然素材や手仕事によるものまで幅広い。新品か再生品か、オリジナルかコピーか、ローカルか輸入品か、伝統的か挑発的か、意図してデザインされたものか偶然生まれたものか——そのいずれもが並列に扱われる。デザインと施工のプロセスは、伝統的であると同時に実験的でもある。
都市提案、建築、住空間のインテリアといった、どのスケールで取り組む場合でも、しばしばありふれた要素同士のあいだに予期せぬ関係性が立ち上がる。そうした関係性は私たちの慣習を揺さぶり、様式の常識を問い直し、建築における意識の役割そのものに挑戦する。

Point Supreme
Konstantinos PantazisとMarianna Rentzouによる建築事務所。アテネ、ロンドン、ブリュッセル、東京、ロッテルダムでの居住・活動を経て、2008年に設立された。トロンハイムのソーシャルハウジング、アテネ沿岸部の桟橋、テルアビブの屋根付き公共空間（竣工）、ベルギーの消防署（竣工）、マルセイユの新建築学校（竣工）、ヘンクのアーティストセンター（C-mine Atelier、竣工）など、複数の国際コンペティションで1等を受賞している。また、アテネを対象とした自主プロジェクトを継続的に発表している。
作品はこれまで、ヴェネツィア・ビエンナーレ、シカゴ・ビエンナーレ、リスボン・トリエンナーレなどで展示されてきたほか、3冊のモノグラフとして出版されており、『Athens Projects』（Graham Foundation、2015年）、『Radical Realities』（Divisare、2017年）、および『a+u』誌の特集号（2023年）がある。KonstantinosとMariannaは、ニューヨークのコロンビア大学やローザンヌのEPFLなど、国際的な建築教育機関で教鞭を執ってきた。
Point Supremeは、ギリシャの大衆紙『LIFO』により「ギリシャで最も影響力のある20人」に選出され、国際誌『Monocle』により2024年の「世界最高の住宅建築スタジオ」に選ばれている。

KYOTO Design Lab is pleased to host a public lecture titled “Between Object and City” by Point Supreme, an architecture practice based in Athens, Greece.
In the architecture of Point Supreme, there is no respect for conventional notions of scale and hierarchy. Everything is treated as equal; everything holds the potential to become a treasure. Architecture merges with furniture, furniture with objects, interiors extend outward, and the landscape is drawn inside. Cities become rooms, and rooms become cities.
Materials and elements range from artificial, market-produced objects to natural and handmade ones—new or reclaimed, original or copied, local or imported, traditional or provocative, designed or accidental. Both the design and construction processes are simultaneously traditional and experimental.
Whether working at the scale of urban proposals, buildings, or domestic interiors, unexpected relationships emerge between often ordinary elements. These relationships disrupt habits, question conventions of style, and challenge the role of consciousness in architecture.

Point Supreme
Konstantinos Pantazis and Marianna Rentzou founded Point Supreme in 2008 after living and working in Athens, London, Brussels, Tokyo and Rotterdam. They have won 1st prize in various international competitions such as for a Social Housing in Trondheim, a Pier on the coast of Athens, a sheltered public space in Tel Aviv (built), a Firestation in Belgium (built), the New Architecture school in Marseille (built) and an Artists Centre in Genk (C-mine Atelier, built). They regularly publish self-initiated projects for Athens. Their work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, the Chicago Biennale and the Lisbon Triennale among other places and has been published in three monographic books: ‘Athens Projects’ (Graham Foundation, 2015), ‘Radical Realities’ (Divisare, 2017) and a dedicated issue of a+u magazine (2023). Konstantinos and Marianna have taught internationally at architecture schools such as Columbia University in New York and EPFL in Lausanne. Point Supreme were included among the 20 most influential personalities in Greece by popular Greek newspaper LIFO, and they were named ‘‘best residential architecture studio in the world’’ for 2024 by international global affairs magazine ‘Monocle’.
