From 1 June 2019 to mid-August, Masaki Iwabuchi, a service designer who studied under Anthony Dunn at the Design & Technology Department of the Parsons University of Fine Arts, has been invited as a KYOTO Design Lab design researcher in residence.

Iwabuchi’s research themes and the process will be published in notes or Medium.

Masaki Iwabuchi

Masaki is an Award-winning Creative Technologist specializing in critical, interdisciplinary, and human-centered research. He is in the Design + Technology program at Parsons School of Design to refine design research methodologies and explore the planetary scale problem-solving beyond user-centered design. He is from Tokyo, Japan and majored in Computer Science and Interdisciplinary Information Studies at the University of Tokyo. Previously he worked at IBM Design for 10 years as a design consultant to bridge human and technology. Masaki has expertise in finding the right questions to solve and turning them into a valuable experience because he believes we cannot come up with a great solution without a great question.
