KYOTO Design Labでは、2023年度より「サーキュラーデザイン」「ランドスケープデザイン」「ダイナミックヘリテージ」「アダプティブデザイン」の4つの重点教育・研究領域を設定し、ラボ内外の多様なステークホルダーと連携しながら、研究活動を進めています。
また、2023年から2024年にかけて全5回にわたり開催された、KYOTO Design Lab 10周年記念連続シンポジウム「Designing Possible Futures」では、学外の有識者を迎え、これら4つの領域について議論するとともに、その成果を総括し、これからのデザイン・建築に求められる「世界観」についても議論を深めました。

Since 2023, KYOTO Design Lab has defined four pillars of education and research—Circular Design, Landscape Design, Dynamic Heritage, and Adaptive Design—and has been advancing research activities in collaboration with diverse stakeholders both within and beyond the Lab.
From 2023 to 2024, the KYOTO Design Lab 10th Anniversary Symposium Series “Designing Possible Futures” was held over five sessions. Inviting external experts, the series examined these four areas in depth, synthesized their outcomes, and further explored the “worldviews” required for the future of design and architecture.
