2017年度の日本建築学会の優秀卒業論文賞・優秀修士論文賞において、清水・赤松研究室M1の森岡里奈（もりおかりな）さんが優秀卒業論文賞を、小野・岩本研究室修了生の高田舜（たかだしゅん）さんが優秀修士論文賞をそれぞれ受賞しています。
森岡さんは右京区宇多野地区の造園業の展開について、フィールドワークと史料調査をもとに明らかにし、高田さんは嵯峨清凉寺の江戸時代の空間構造について、地域や他都市との関係を視野に明らかにしています。

Morioka Rina, a master student belonging to Shimizu and Akamatsu Laboratory, and Takada Shun, an alumni from Ono and Iwamoto laboratory have received the Student Thesis Award for Architectural Institute of Japan in 2017.
Morioka has written about the history of the landscaping industry in Utano area of Ukyo-ku through the fieldwork and historical research. Takada has written about the spatial structure of Seiryo-ji Temple in the early modern period while considering its relationship with the surrounding regions.
