シンガポール・プレス・ホールディングズの中国メディア部門が設立した「シンガポール・クリエイティブ・アワード」 2018年度プロダクトデザイン部門において、ミラノサローネ2018での展示「Exchanged Forms」が特別賞を受賞しました。
「Exchanged Forms」とは、京都とシンガポールの「典型的な形態・イメージ」の交換を通じて得たインスピレーションもとに、新たなプロダクトデザインをおこなう実験的な試みです。プロジェクト・ディレクターは、岡田栄造教授（KYOTO Design Lab ラボ長）とパトリック・チア氏（シンガポール国立大学デザインインキュベーションセンター ディレクター）の両氏がつとめました。

‘Exchanged Forms’ in Milan, a joint exhibition with the Design Incubation Centre, National University of Singapore was selected as ‘Special Mention’ for Singapore Creative Award, 2018.

This project was regarded as an experiment where we intentionally induce a spread and a transition of culture, one of the most important process in history, under regulated conditions. In the process of certain cultural elements such as words, tangible objects, and icons spreading from a certain region to another, some information inevitably got lost and causes misinterpretation. At the same time, the adopted cultural elements evolved into something new by getting combined with the local culture of the destination. We purposely induced this process among Singaporean students and Japanese students.
